Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

Our Early Years provision offers Nursery and Reception places. We have capacity to offer full and part-time funded Nursery places, as well as 60 Reception places.

We pride ourselves in being an inclusive provision with high expectations for all children. We are a dedicated team and committed to their learning experiences which promote our school values. Attitude Determines Altitude.

Children have the opportunity to interact with a range of rich, stimulating and engaging activities that develop a love for learning and independence.

We believe that every child is unique and learn in a number of different ways. We therefore provide a range of experiences to support this by following the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, where all children are nurtured in a healthy and safe learning environment, and develop a varied range of knowledge and skills.

This supports their development across all seven areas of the curriculum:

• Personal, Social and Emotional Development
• Communication and Language
• Physical Development
• Mathematics
• Literacy
• Understanding the World
• Expressive Arts and Design

We facilitate this through short adult-led carpet sessions and free-flow child-initiated activities. We build on the children’s existing skills by planning activities around their interests, which are used to promote active learning and engagement to cultivate lifelong learners.
