Nursery provides learning through a variety of enriching and play based activities following the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. Children are able to select the activities and resources they choose with each activity being carefully planned to meet the needs and interests of the children. We provide a stimulating environment both indoors and out with children able to free flow between the areas. Staff develop solid relationships with the children in order for children to feel secure and confident within the environment so they can fulfil their learning potential.
EYFS - Reception
Learning in Reception follows the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, covering the seven areas of learning. Activities are based around playing and exploring, active learning, creating and thinking critically and are carefully planned so that they are appropriately challenging ensuring all children make progress. Children are able to select activities within the stimulating environment both inside and out as well as planned opportunities for learning outside the classroom through regular visits to the local area. Learning is planned through adult focussed and child-initiated activities and takes place as both whole class and small groups. Children take part in weekly PE sessions and whole school assembly. Children are encouraged to be independent learners developing skills of resilience and perseverance and being confident to have a go.
